We had posted some questions to Mukesh as a part of his #ATAMyStory
1. Why do you think speaking at #doppa2020 really matters to you?
I am a strong believer of “Sharing is Caring”. Each one of us have knowledge and experiences in our life, we always get value from it for ourselves and team. This value can be made 100x once we start sharing this in platforms like #DOPPA2020 and at the same time increase our knowledge by learning from amazing speakers.
2. Do you think that organizations and individuals should promote virtual learnings special in the current situation?
Virtual learning was always there, with the current situation, it becomes lot more important. Virtual learning increases the knowledge sharing and learning new skills significantly. I am strong believer of this and at any moment of time learning on average 2 new courses myself to keep me updated. For me “Learning never stops” and virtual makes it easy.Yes, virtual learnings have become the need of the hour when working remotely has become a new normal.
3. While practice makes all of us perfect, share an everyday practice that has made things better for you at work?
There are several things happening around us and the best way to get to perfection is to practice more. In addition to my role as CTIO, I also do lot of teaching – I teach more on “new ways of doing things” which I achieve by practicing new things and based on the results share those in my teaching. Be it applying Analytics in everything I do, teaching kids to estimate and track everything or adopting agile ways of working and implementing DevOps in every code I write.
I practice what I preach.
4. Anything else you want to share
In my 25 years of experience, I spent 13+ yrs at Microsoft USA. I was fortunate to have multiple interactions with Bill Gates and worked closed with Satya Nadella and learned a lot from legendary leaders on how to build “BEST” Products that are used by millions. Learned a lot about scaling from ZERO to TOP while working with Mukesh Ambani to build overall Jio Products strategy, Advertising and Analytics.
